Decorating My Safe Space

This is a space where I feel most comfortable and confident. It contains a picture of my ideal space that represents me and a description of the different elements.

Project 3; Designing a space

For this project, I created a scene from a mountain cabin in Upstate New York. I chose this because my family has a house in Upstate New York and it is one of my favorite places.

When designing this space, I made sure to take note of different aspects that define my family's home upstate, as well as taking into account new ideas and symbols that make the space feel more personalized and welcome to my favorite things. To make this space remind me of Upstate, I included the red barn. We have a red barn on our property and this is a defining signal to me that this image I created is a reminder of my cherished home. Another aspect I included to remind me of my house is the deer. When we go upstate and hike through the forest, we always spot deer and i included them because it made the space feel more natural and unbothered by humans. An aspect that I included to make this space more connected to me were the cats. I have two cats at home and including pictures of cats in this space makes it feel more personalized to me.

Creating a Personal Logo

ge logo2.jpg
ge logo1.jpg

For this project, I experimented in creating a logo that reflected my personal style and interests. I started out by first designing 3-4 different rough logo sketched pictured above. I created the logo with the intention of including my initials  or name as the theme, because my name is a defining factor of me . I also wanted to include a small little sketch of some sort to also help convey my personality and my interests. Some different elements I played around with included the ocean, mountains, initials, flowers, and stars. I then narrowed it down to 2 logo designs (pictured above the text to the left). Finally I picked a final logo and edited it slightly to fit my design and style more accurately. My final design is depicted on the left. I created a full logo version and an abbreviated logo version to fit all of my projects throughout the year. The final logo design is my favorite because I liked how my initials were a key part of the logo. I liked that the "g" flowed seamlessly into an "e". I also loved how the "e" encapsulated the logo and acted as a border. This made the logo feel more finished.

Jump out Images

For this project, we had to choose a person and an animal to create a jump out image with. We experimented with photoshop to create these designs. We learned how to change the perspective of the background, how to clone the image and erase the imperfections, and we also learned how to create multiple layers and apply effects to them.

taylor swift jumpout.jpg

for my project, I decided to choose Taylor swift and a sea turtle. I chose Taylor swift because she has been an inspirational figure to me and I find peace and enjoyment in her music. Her music has become a part of me and it stands out amongst others for its unique lyrics and melodies.

I chose the sea turtle because it reminds me of my trip to Hawaii. When I was ten, we went to Hawaii and snorkeled at the beach. One of my favorite memories was seeing all the sea turtles swimming across the reefs.

movie poster

project

For this project, we had to experiment with photoshop to add a picture of ourselves on to one of our favorite movie posters. We then had to blend ourselves into the scene of the poster and add our name as a featured actor. I decided to use the Taylor Swift Eras Tour Film poster as my movie poster. I chose this because I really liked this movie and this movie choice incorporated my music taste, which is something I value, into this project. I also thought the color scheme of the poster matched my website perfectly. I also chose a picture of me in a blue dress because I thought it contrasted nicely with the blended background and I also though the sparkles were a nice aspect connecting it back to the original picture of Taylor Swift. This is because she typically wears sparkly dresses and bodysuits on her tour.

MOVIE POSTER MASHUP PROJECT

For this project, we were tasked to merge two different movie posters together to make one. For this project, I decided to use the Barbie movie and the secret garden movie, creating Barbie, the secret garden. We had to edit different aspects of both posters to make the design more seamless and fitting. The tool I used the most was the cloning tool. This tool allowed me to edit out aspects of the secret garden poster to allow for elements from the Barbie poster to be incorporated. I chose these two posters to merge because I liked the overall aesthetic from the Barbie movie, and I loved the contrasting colors mixed together with the greens from the secret garden mixed with the pinks from the Barbie movie.

Clouds in the Sky

New Movie Poster

for this project, we had to make a new movie poster using our imagination. I landed on a action movie, starring Emma Watson and Harrison Ford. The movie takes place in the snowy mountains. Newley weds; Harrison and Emma are on a plane traveling to their honeymoon when all of a sudden their plane has an engine malfunction that sends the plane hurling do the ground. They are the only two survivors and they have to trek through the mountains, battling snow, high altitude, and lack of resources. This movie depicts their survival story and the people they meet along the way home. I decided to go for a blue and red theme to the movie, because the blue represented the cold environment they were in, and the red represents danger and fear. The red also contrasted perfectly against the blue.

Battle Of Redwater

The movie poster

For this assignment, we were given the plot of a movie, some key aspects, and characters that we had to include in a movie poster. Everything in the poster was photoshopped and edited in. We had to use Taylor Swift and Sylvester Stallone as the two main actors and we also had to include some sort of alien activity as well. The project involved adding in different scenes from the movie, so I decided to add one of the pirate ship battle scene where you can see Taylor Swifts Tortured Poets Department ship battling against Sylvester Stallone's pirate ship as well as others in the distance. Another scene I depicted in the movie poster is the part where the alien ship is hovering over the rough seas, looking for Taylor swifts ship. My goal for that scene was to add a sense of eeriness as the lone, large, foreign ship hovered over the rough water, in search of the pirates. I also added blazing flames behind the two main characters to hint at the fire and fighting that would come up later in the plot. The fire also represents the bravery and ferociousness that the pirates have against the aliens.

The Battle of Redwater tells the story of two opposing pirates; Taylor Swift and Sylvester Stallone. The pirates must work together and uite their forces to fight back against the hostile aliens who threaten to take the pirate port city of New Redwater for themselves. This movie involves stolen and hidden treasure, intense battle scenes across the open ocean, rough water and intense fire, boat races, while including aspects like comedy, suspense, and romance.

Some of my favorite aspects included in the movie poster are as following;

The TTPD logo on the pirate ship. This logo represents Taylor Swifts newest studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. I decided to include this detail because this album was a huge turning point and success for Taylor, as it marked her poetry abilities in the music industry, and also earned her a position in the poetry society, along with the respect from writers. I chose to display this album on the front of her sails. because I think that it represents Taylor's abilities and sends a serious message to those who criticize her; Sylvester Stallone in this case.

The snake on Taylors left shoulder is another one of my favorite elements in the movie poster because it is a refrence from her Reputation album. This snake represents an element of success and power over her enemies.

There is also hidden Taylor swift song lyrics incorporated throughout the poster, signaling her importance in the movie, and the power she holds in this fictional world.

Digital Design The Movie

For this project, we had the opportunity to create a movie poster advertising the class and what it offers. I decided to approach this project by making the movie poster reflect how I view the class. I decided to set the stage by creating a professional but creative environment that allows you to design freely and work on projects with creative control. I also included personalized touches like post it notes with reminders for the class and a stack of papers including my past projects.

Logo Redesign

for this project, we were tasked with redesigning our previous logo in illustrator this time instead of photoshop. Illustrator uses vectors in its designs and is a more complex tool so I was able to make my new logo look a lot smoother and more finished overall.

I decided to keep the same color scheme, although I did add some hints of orange and different shades of cream and yellow.

I also decided to keep the lowercase cursive "g" as the center og the design. Instead of putting the "e" around the "g", I decided to indluce my last name along the curve of the cursive "g"

New logo GE final.png

Some new elements I decided to add to this project include;

-my full last name instead of the abbreviated "e"

-my signature at the bottom. I felt that it added a more personalized touch

- a heart marble background behind the G. I thought that this added a layer of depth and dimension

-the stars. I decided to include these to make a connection to the original logo while also re-inventing them a little bit.

Digital Design Logo

For this assignment, I was tasked with creating a logo that represents this class. I had to create a full logo version as well as an abbreviated version of my logo.

For the full version, My only requirement was the I included the initials, DD and the words Digital Design. I decided to swirl together all of the theme colors for my website and then i added Ombre's inside the swirls of colors. I also chose to use a star as the center of the logo and I incorporated a marble color and texture inside the writing. I hand- outlines the D's to create a more organic look and I did this to represent the initial aspect of this assignment.

for the abbreviated logo, I included all of the same aspects, except instead of writing out the full words digital design, I only included the initials. I also outlines the D's to show the connection to the first, full logo.

Creating A Font

For  this  project,  we  had  the  opportunity  to  create  our  own  font  to use  for  all  of  our  projects.  We  were given  a  template  to  follow  but  then  it was  up to  me  to  use  my  creativity  to  make my  font  my  own. I  decided  to incorporate  little  hearts  into  my letters  and  numbers.

Cartoon Self Portrait

georgias cartoon (6).jpg

For this assignment, I chose a picture of myself to turn into a cartoon version of me. I could pick out any style of animation I wanted, but I decided to try to make myself look like I was painted. I used Illustrator to make this design.

Some of my favorite aspects of my cartoon

self portrait include my eyes and the necklaces

I added. I decided to add these necklaces

because those are the two necklaces that

I wear almost everyday, and I felt that they

matched my personality.

One of the challenging aspects of this was

getting the skin color right. I was using the

eyedropper tool, but I had a hard time finding

a color that fit my skin tone evenly across the

board, so that's why I supplemented in other

colors to make my face look slightly more realistic.

Flyer 1

For the first flyer, I used a new platform. I had the opportunity to experiment with InDesign for this poster. The assignment involved creating a flyer to advertise a meeting for the Digital Design class. I included necessary information about the meeting as well as different examples of the work I have completed so far in this class. I also experimented with different fonts and styles when making this poster.

Flyer 2

For this flyer, I also used InDesign to create the poster. For this assignment, I had to create a flyer advertising open spots for Red Bank Regional High School TV, or RBRHSTV for shot. This was largely a font based project, and I experimented using different fonts and clip art images to make this black and white poster pop off the wall and catch wanted eyes. I was also sure to include all of the important information including what positions they are looking for, and how and where to apply.
